This is Podcast Suck, the podcast that helps business owners start and grow a podcast that actually grows their business. I'm your host, Sebastian Rusk. If you've been thinking about starting a podcast already have one that's going absolutely nowhere, or you're looking for a better way to build authority, create content, grow your network, and generate more opportunities, well, you're in the right place. So stop overthinking it, stop waiting for the perfect time, and let's get your podcast working for you. Let's dive in. Have you ever heard someone tell you this sounds great, but let's reconnect in a few months? Or I'm interested, but now's just not the right time? Most people hear that and think it's a timing problem. It is not. It's usually a trust problem. And today I want to explain why prospects say maybe later and what they actually mean and how podcasting solves it better than almost any other marketing strategy. Let's talk about the lie we tell ourselves. Most entrepreneurs and business owners this think the prospect can't afford it. They're not ready. The economy's bad, timing's off. Money isn't funny. Cows don't go moo. Sometimes those things are true. But most of the time, the prospect simply doesn't know you well enough. You see, people don't buy because they understand your offer. People buy because they trust the person that making it. That's you, by the way. Big difference. And you can have the best offer in the world. If trust isn't there, they're waiting. I want you to sit and think about your own buying habits. When was the last time you made a significant purchase from someone you had never heard of before? Probably not recently. So what do we do before we buy? Well, we follow them. We read the reviews, we listen to interviews, we watch videos. We check social proof. Why? Because we're looking for that certainty. We're looking for trust. Your prospects are doing the same exact thing with you. Here's why. Podcasting accelerates trust for the most part. This is where podcasting becomes the game changer for you. A podcast creates what I like to call trust through repetition. Every episode becomes another touch point. Every episode says, here's how I think. Here's how I solve problems. Here's how. Here's what I believe. Here's how I help people. The prospect doesn't even feel sold. They feel educated. They feel connected. They feel familiar with you. And familiarity lowers resistance every single time. Here's the podcast advantage, if you will, over traditional marketing Cold email. Someone sees your name, deletes it. Social media post, Maybe they see it, maybe they don't. Maybe the algorithm just buries it. A podcast, they spend 10 minutes with you, 20 minutes with you, 30 minutes with you. Every single week. Nobody spends 30 minutes reading your Instagram captions. Podcast listeners invest time. Time creates trust. Trust creates sales. Now let me give you a real world example of this in play. The clients that we help launch a podcast in 90 days or less with our done for you podcast launch solution, after they launch and they go into our incubator and they're recording new episodes every single month, they're executing on this exact strategy. Are they leveraging networking? Absolutely. Are they leveraging the opportunity to re engage a pipeline? Absolutely. Are they leveraging their podcast that as soon as they meet somebody that they know is a fit to do business with or build a relationship with, they're immediately inviting them on their podcast? Yes, yes and yes. Why? Because this strategy works. That's why I'm talking to you about it right now. I want you to implement this in your business, into your podcast. And if you don't have a podcast and you've been on the fence, knock it off. The time is right now. Not Q1, Q4, Q6, Q10. What are you waiting for? The opportunity is behind the microphone and you thinking about it is not doing anything other than keeping you exactly where you don't want to be, more than likely. Okay, rant over. Let's get back to the episode. So when clients come into your world through your podcast, they've heard your podcast, watch clips, consumed content, and by the time they book the call with you, they're not asking, who are you? They're asking, how does your process work? That's a completely different conversation because the trust building already happened. When someone says, let's talk later, what they're often saying is, I need more certainty. Podcasting gives them that certainty. It keeps you in front of them, it keeps you top of mind, and it builds trust. While your competitors are chasing prospects through cold outreach that are falling on deaf ears and emails that aren't even getting opened, DMs that are getting deleted and reported as spam. So if you're tired of hearing, let's connect later, maybe next quarter, not right now, then it might be time to build a trust building machine inside of another's sales funnel. A podcast does that. A trust building machine built into your sales funnel. If you need help launching your podcast, I would love to have a conversation with you and chat about what's possible. You can click the link below in the show notes, the description of this podcast episode, or you can click on my Instagram and go to my Instagram profile and click Book a podcast strategy call. I'll jump on the phone with anybody for 15 minutes and chat about what's possible. I know what's possible, but I'll chat with you about what's possible. Paint a picture. Maybe help you better understand what you don't know that you don't know about the world of podcasting for your business and how starting a podcast can radically change your life and your business if you let it. But you've got to want to do it. You have to want to do the thing. Getting started is half the battle. That's why we're successful and very good at what we do, because we do everything for you. Except record the podcast episodes. 90 days or less, guaranteed to get you launched with everything you need to launch a podcast and take it out into the world and start executing it with a strategy that we've talked about today. Trust building. A trust building machine, AKA a podcast. Listen, I can't give you any exact numbers or stats on how well you're going to do once you've launched a podcast, but I can guarantee you a hundred percent failure by doing nothing. Wink, wink. Yeah, you may have scratched your head. Hopefully you're not driving jokes aside. And those aren't jokes. Actually, that's, that's part of what I'm trying to get through to you on this episode is that there's a clock ticking that none of us can see. What are you doing with the time you're being given? This was an off the cuff outside of my outline and my notes that I put together for this episode, but it was on. My heart was on my mind. If I don't share it with you, I'm being a taker. So I really want to challenge your thought process right now. Last few minutes of this podcast episode. Sit and take inventory of what you are doing and what you aren't doing. Write those things down and then I want you to write the cost. What's the cost? Those things not being done. Who's. Who's. Who's paying as a result? This can be personally, professionally. Who's missing out because you're not showing up? Who's missing out because you're on the fence on whatever it is. Listen, if it's a podcast, great. If it's not a podcast, it's the next thing. It's quitting the job. It's leaving the shitty relationship, whatever it might be. The decision yours. So I'm going to end yet another rant on this episode, but I really hope that you didn't just press play to learn how to upload a podcast episode. I teach all that stuff too, and I'm here to help. But I'm also here to help you step into a completely different version of yourself. I'm here to see you radically change your life and your business. Because you started a podcast.
