Welcome to Podcast Suck, a podcast about starting a podcast, where we dive headfirst into the wild, wacky, and sometimes frustrating world of podcasting. If you've ever sat down with a microphone, hit record, and thought, what on earth am I doing? Or if you're just curious about the magic behind your favorite shows, then you're in the right place. Get ready for laughs, insights, and a whole lot of what not to do advice as we embark on this podcasting journey together. Let's dive in. What if I told you most podcast intros and outros suck? They're too long, too vague, and they sound like the host recorded them half awake, just rolled out of bed with a cup of coffee, a prayer, and probably an iPhone. Today on this episode, I'm going to show you how to leverage chat, GPT and Claude AI to create a strong podcast intro and outro that actually positioned your show like a professional media platform. Let's jump in. Here's why your podcast intro matters. Your intro has one job, position the show, not tell your life story, A strong intro should do three things. Write these down. If you're driving, come back to them. Number one, tell people who the show is for. Number two, tell them what they're going to get from the episode. What will they gain? And number three, set the tone for the conversation. Here's the mistake most hosts make when it comes to intros and outros. They sit down and they say, you know what? I got it. I'm going to take up from the top and just wing it. Winging it is a terrible idea. That's where artificial intelligence, AI becomes incredibly helpful. Remember AI is here as a tool here to replace. Well, not everything, but it's a tool. Now the information that you feed into AI is everything. So before you ask chat, GBT or Claude AI to write anything, you need to give it some context. Remember, otherwise it's garbage in garbage out. So here's what you give the AIs chat, GBT, Claude, whatever you're using, you give them your bio, the name of the show, who the audience is, what the show promises, the type of tone that you want, the length of the intro. Here's an example. Using this bio, create a 32nd podcast intro script. The show is for entrepreneurs who want to grow their business using a podcast, make the tone confident and conversational, include a clear promise of what listeners will gain. Now, suddenly you have an actual structure to the intro instead of just rambling on with one. Here's why I use chat GPT and Claude when coming up with these type of things for our clients and for my stuff too. But here's the trick. Most people miss chat. GPT is great for structure and clarity. Claude is fantastic at making things sound a little more human and controversial. You see how not controversial. I'm sorry. Conversational. I'm not going to go back and edit that to prove a point that sometimes you make a mistake during a podcast episode. It shows that we're human beings. Okay. Conversational, not controversial. My goodness. Enough of that going on in the world. So what I'd like to do is step one, generate what I'm looking to do. Let's call it a podcast intro script in this case with chat GPT step two, I'm going to take what chat GPT gave me and I'm going to paste it into Claude. And then number three, I'm going to ask Claude to refine the tone and make it better. See, now you've got something that sounds natural, but structured. Now let's talk about creating an outro with AI, not too far different than what you did with the intro, but it's all about the input. It's what you're telling AI that you need from them. The outro is even easier. So you move the listener to the next step. Maybe that's subscribing. Maybe that's leaving a review. Maybe that's booking a call. Maybe that's D all of the above. Here's an example prompt, create a 22nd podcast outro for a show about podcasting for business growth. Include a quick reminder of the show's value and a clear call to action to book a strategy call. You see, that is simple, direct and effective. Listen, artificial intelligence won't replace your actual voice, but it will definitely help you structure it. And when your podcast sounds professional from the very first few seconds of the episode, people take you serious. And that's where real opportunities start showing up. So if you're thinking about launching a podcast, but you want it done the right way from day one, you need to make sure you have a professional intro outro promotional trailer.
