Welcome to Podcast Suck, a podcast about starting a podcast, where we dive headfirst into the wild, wacky, and sometimes frustrating world of podcasting. If you've ever sat down with a microphone, hit record, and thought, what on earth am I doing? Or if you're just curious about the magic behind your favorite shows, then you're in the right place. Get ready for laughs, insights, and a whole lot of what not to do advice as we embark on this podcasting journey together. Let's dive in. So you're waiting for everything to be perfect. That's adorable. Please do let me know how that works out for you. Today, I want to talk to you about why most podcasts never get launched. Over the past decade, I've watched dozens. Maybe even hundreds of would be podcasters get stuck in air quotes planning mode. They overthink the mic, the format, the logo. They treat their first Here's a newsflash. No one's watching yet. But in my experience, here's the truth. You're never going to feel ready, not for the first episode, not for the 10th, maybe not even for the 100th. But confidence doesn't come before the mic, it comes through the mic. Every episode you don't publish, well, that's an opportunity you just handed to your competition. Here's what actually creates clarity for you, and at the same time, simultaneously builds momentum. Clarity comes from speaking out loud, from hearing your thoughts, from refining your message in real time, from showing up and learning what doesn't work so So stop thinking about the show, start recording the show. Action, massive action, imperfect action is the cure for Perfection is just fear in a costume. It's fear pretending to be high standards. It's fear trying to sound smart. And Fear isn't helping your business grow. Action is. Here's a better way to start. Record the messy episode, put it out there, learn something, and then Do it again. The best shows are born through iteration, not If you're ready to ditch the pressure and finally get launched and you need some help doing that, that's what we do here. But the goal of this episode, is to really get in your head and help you get clear on exactly what it takes to stop procrastinating, to stop putting things off. It's already January 15th, 2026. At the time I'm recording this episode, we are halfway through the first month of the year. If you haven't seen that time does in fact fly, may that be a I've said it before, I'll say it again and I'll continue to say it. Who's missing out? Because Is 2026 really the year that you finally get out of your own way? Cut the BS excuses and start taking massive action, moving the ball down the field one episode at a time. one interview at a time. Have you stopped to consider what would be possible if you started to interview people that you want to do business with? Have you started to think about what's possible by inviting people onto your podcast that you may meet at a networking event or a conference or any event that pertains to business? That's the number one thing you could possibly say to someone when you first meet I'd love to have you as a guest on my podcast. Your first interaction with them is to offer to do something for Think about if somebody did that to you, I meet you at a networking event. Instead of trying to shove my message down the, throat of the person I just met, invite them to be on your podcast. You're doing But then when you get them on the podcast, you're getting to know them. And then after the podcast recording or before the podcast recording, you get the opportunity to sit there and say, hey, how can we work together? They're more inclined to tell you, how you can work together, how you can support each other because you've done something for them. But none of this is going to happen, none of it, unless you get started. It's a brand new year, it's a brand new month, and it's a brand new opportunity to push the excuses aside and say now is the time that I start a podcast. Why? Because I said so, meaning you're telling yourself that, not me telling you to. Yes, I'm telling you to as well. So I want to kick this year off with some encouragement. a little kick in the pants, if you will, to get you going and push you in the right direction and move you to massive action. Friends, I am living proof that if you show up and just keep doing it day in and day out, your life and business will be radically changed.
