You're ready for laughs, insights and a whole lot of what not to do advice as we embark on this podcasting journey together. Let's dive in what's happening. Everybody. Welcome back to another episode. Hey, maybe it's your first episode. Either way, I'm grateful that you took a few minutes out of your day to hang out with me so you can better understand what you don't know, that you don't know about the world of podcasting. Today I want to get right down to it. I want to talk to you about something that you may already be feeling, and that is if you don't move now, someone else will, because in business, in creation, in launching anything, speed isn't optional, it's everything. Think about it Every day that you wait to launch, someone else is out there building trust, influence and sales in your place. Every single moment of hesitation gives them more ground. This episode, right here, is your sign.
Speaker 1:A few years back, I worked with a client. Let's call her Maria. Maria had a brilliant idea digital product that could help people solve a pressing problem. She worked on it for months, polishing it, optimizing it, worrying about every single last detail. Meanwhile, every single last detail. Meanwhile, her competitor, someone with a less than perfect product but who launched quickly, got into the market first Beat her to it. Maria saw that this competitor was building an audience, was getting feedback, was earning sales. When Maria finally launched, she actually had to fight for attention. She had to fight for trust. She had to fight for credibility Things the other person already had. The gains Maria finally made were smaller, and many of her potential customers well, they had already been chosen by her competition.
Speaker 1:Then look at someone the opposite way. Let's call him Tom. He launched a product a little rough around the edges, if you will, but it was fast Done is better than perfect. Imperfect action will solve a majority of your problems on a daily basis. Tom listened to feedback. He put it into play. He got into the market, he built trust. He made his first sales and his influence grew. His growth curve steepened, but each customer, each piece of feedback, each testimonial compounded His momentum, became a force.
Speaker 1:So why does speed matter so much? Well, I'm going to give you three reasons on actually three really big reasons on why speed matters. Number one trust and credibility. Grow early. People tend to trust those who are in front of them. If you launch sooner you show up in people's lives, you become the familiar face. If you delay, you're invisible, you don't exist. Number two feedback and iteration are powerful. Launching early lets you get real feedback from real customers. You find out what works, what doesn't, and then you adjust. Waiting for perfection means you might miss the market and what they actually want. And lastly, number three first mover advantage in influence and sales. First mover advantage has been around since the inception of business.
Speaker 1:If you are the first one to the market, your odds of succeeding are significantly higher than anybody who obviously is not in the market yet or may come after you, even if the first version is not perfect. Being first gives you a headstart. You capture mind share, stories, testimonials, buzz D all of the above and all of that compounds. And later you don't have to overcome so much skepticism or apprehension for buyer behavior. All of those things are often avoided because you were the first to market. Now let's not ignore the cost of delay. Okay, cost of delay. Here's some examples Ready, missed opportunities, resources spent refining instead of earning, growing and learning Things are all valuable to the process of actually creating something meaningful and getting it to the market.
Speaker 1:Now I know what you might be thinking, but I'm not ready. Okay, you may not be ready, but are we ever? But at what level of readiness? Is enough Enough to test, enough to get feedback? Don't wait for perfect. What you need to do instead is aim for good enough and iterate that and refine it as you go. Here's another cute one what if I fail?
Speaker 1:Failure is part of launching, but there's a difference. Failing early, with smaller resources or expectations, gives you clarity. It allows you to learn. It gives you the chance to pivot. Waiting might lead to a bigger fall when you eventually try. Here's one more but what will people think? That's often one of our loudest fears, but here's the truth. People respect action. Even imperfect work shows that you've got courage. Even imperfect work shows that you've got courage. And those who criticize often aren't your ideal audience anyway, and they're probably not doing anything meaningful.
Speaker 1:Meanwhile, those who need your product or service are waiting for it, whether you are ready or whether you've launched it. Whatever the case is, if they need it, they are waiting for it. So what do you do now? I'm going to tell you exactly what you need to do. I want you to pick one thing. You've been hesitating on A product, a podcast, wink wink, a project, a service, and I want you to set a deadline One week, two weeks, whatever it takes. Then launch a minimal version, put it out into the world, collect feedback from people who tell you the truth, learn from it, grow from it. Here's what I do. Know. The market rewards speed, not endless planning, not hesitation. The longer you wait, the longer someone else builds the foundation. The foundation is trust, audience sales and you well, you risk being left playing catch up Again. This is your sign Launch it now.
