Welcome to Podcast Suck, a podcast about starting a podcast, where we dive headfirst into the wild, wacky, and sometimes frustrating world of podcasting. If you've ever sat down with a microphone, hit record, and thought, what on earth am I doing? Or if you're just curious about the magic behind your favorite shows, then you're in the right place. Get ready for laughs, insights, and a whole lot of what not to do advice as we embark on this podcasting journey together. Let's dive in. Still guessing what to post on social media on a daily basis. That's cute, but it's also why your content is not converting. So if you're somebody that has just been relying on air quotes, vibes, and winging it, when it comes to content, or you just continue to burn out on your content strategy, or you get crickets every time you post something. Well, today I'm going to give you the cure for your content guessing game. And I know you might find this shocking, but it all starts with a mic. Here's the problem with the whole vibe it out approach. when it comes to your daily social media content. What do you mean by vibe it out, Sebastian? Well, we just kinda, some people wanna get a vibe for how they feel that day. Terrible strategy, because you're never gonna feel like it or about it or excited. I'm gonna feel my vibe for the day. I'm gonna vibe it out and then post whatever shows up. And then, well, the vibe never shows up, so the content never shows up. And well, you never post anything. Here's what happens when most people try to wing content day by day. It leads to inconsistency. It leads to lack of clarity. It leads to zero traction or engagement. all in all leading you to a failed strategy that isn't even a strategy. Does that make sense? Listen, if your audience doesn't know what to expect from you, why would they keep showing up? Let's talk about how a podcast flips the script, pun intended. Your podcast is your content command center. What do you mean? Here's what I mean. One episode equals one strong weekly theme. The episode for the week is what you talk about for the week. It's the theme of the content. That theme becomes reels for Instagram and Facebook, content for your emails, content for your newsletters, et cetera, et cetera. You need to stop scrambling and you need to start strategizing. And that doesn't mean bending your mind and racking your brain and trying to figure out the best strategy for the brand. It's just a matter of taking action. Stop scrambling, start strategizing, but don't overcomplicate it. Here's why our clients at the podcast launch lab are able to get their social media content game in check and consistent because of the podcast every week. They sit down, they record an episode and suddenly they have multiple pieces of content from that one episode. We happen to create three pieces of content. You could easily create seven pieces of content from one episode, which when in turn give you not only a podcast episode for the week, but it gives you content for every single day of the week, one episode, multiple pieces of content. So here's what theme-based content and action looks like. Theme meaning, well, what's the title of this week's episode? What's the theme of this week's podcast episode? Great. Now the theme has been established. Let's extract content from that podcast episode and put it into action. Here's an example, episode topic, the cost of playing small in your business, Instagram, real LinkedIn post, carousel post on Instagram, email newsletter, example two episode title, why your brand needs a face and voice creates depth and storytelling across platforms and It's not just about volume. It's about alignment and authority. Remember, it's not just about cranking out a bunch of crap. It's about creating content that your audience and community align with and associate with your authority. When we stop guessing less, we start converting more. Another way of saying that when we stop winging it, we tend to start to figure it out in a more intelligent manner. It's not just about volume. It's about alignment and authority. It's a good line. I'm glad I repeated that because here's what happens when you stop guessing. You show up consistently, which by the way you should be doing anyway, You build trust faster. You need trust from your community in order for them to be a community and you close more deals. Who doesn't want that? I mean, isn't that the idea of showing up online, obviously providing value, positioning yourself as an authority, but the ultimate goal, is to close more deals. If we close more deals, we increase sales. If we increase sales, we grow our business and we grow our business. We can have a greater impact and do more. So why is all this necessary? Because your audience can follow your narrative and get to know you. Y-O-U in all caps. Let me say that again. Your audience can follow you and your narrative, meaning what you have to say on your podcast episode and the micro content that's being created from that podcast episode and the stuff you're posting daily. They can get to know you. People don't buy from mystery. They buy from momentum. One more time, people don't buy from mystery. They buy from momentum, the momentum that you create by being consistent with putting a new podcast episode out every single week, the momentum that you create by posting micro content on social media so that you're showing up where the eyeballs are at, which happens to be in the newsfeed. People are digitally addicted. No one's away from their phone for any given moment. Why not feed into that? Why not show up in that space where you know that the eyeballs are at, which allows you the opportunity to earn that attention. People don't buy from mystery. They buy from momentum, write that one down, unless you're driving. I'll close with this. If you're tired of posting random crap and hoping that it sticks, it's time to stop winging it and start podcasting. Start planning your first episode around your core message. What are you all about? What's your business all about? What problems do you solve? Start there with episode one. The time is right now, not tomorrow, not at the end of the month, not at the end of the quarter, not at the end of the year, right now. You know why? Because there is a clock ticking that none of us can see, and we are all on borrow time. And most important, someone is missing out because you're not showing up. Ask yourself that question. Allow it to humble you. Allow it to center you, but most important, allow it to drive you to massive action. You gotta understand our dreams and goals and ambitions are all tied to somebody else. Let's not let them down. Let's show up. Stop vibing out when it comes to your content strategy and create something that's consistent. Remember, people don't buy from mystery. They buy from momentum. questions, thoughts, ideas, concerns about this episode or any episodes on the show, please send me a DM. I'm here to answer your questions. I'm here to be a resource. Use me.
