Welcome to Podcast Suck, a podcast about starting a podcast, where we dive headfirst into the wild, wacky, and sometimes frustrating world of podcasting. If you've ever sat down with a microphone, hit record, and thought, what on earth am I doing? Or if you're just curious about the magic behind your favorite shows, then you're in the right place. Get ready for laughs, insights, and a whole lot of what not to do advice as we embark on this podcasting journey together. Let's dive in. So your competition has a podcast. What do you have? We stopped to think about that at all. That's gotta be, I don't care how competitive you are. That's gotta be a bit of a rub knowing that you've been thinking about starting a podcast or the thought has crossed your mind and, but yeah, you haven't done anything, but There's something to be said for the ones The first ones to blaze the trail to say, Hey, we're going to start doing the thing because the thing is what gets more eyeballs on our brand, on our business, on our product. Your competition's owning the narrative right now because they have a podcast that people are seeing content from, they're hearing episodes from, they're seeing Listen, it's 2025. Silence equals completely irrelevant in It's just where we're at. If you're not online, you're not creating content, most people don't even know about you. It's equivalent to having a billboard in the eighties or nineties that was in the middle of the woods, that had no foot traffic, no roads for people to drive on, to see it in the middle So I want you to ask yourself, is our while our competition has their billboard on the busiest highways and byways in town. Of course, I'm using that as an analogy for billboards, but in this case, it's a podcast. Listen, you may be the very best at what you do. So what if you're not sharing it with the world? So what if you're not getting that message out? So what if you're not leveraging it to network with people that you want to do business with? Leveraging it to network with people that you want to build a relationship with. Do you want to win the attention war or not? Because I guarantee you that your competition is winning the attention war right now because they have a podcast. They're dominating the car rides, the commutes, the gym sessions, the evening walks, the runs. Why? Cause they're all up in your potential customers and clients earbuds with a podcast. I want this episode to drive you to action. It Good. When we're triggered, we're often led to take action. You can make a conscious decision right now to get loud, or get left behind. Those are your two options right now. I'm not saying get on a podcast and start screaming and yelling and being completely off the rails, but get loud meeting, turn the microphone on, share your expertise, start networking and interviewing people you want to do business with. You got to pick one. You want to be the best kept secret or do you want to start talking best kept secret? It's great for the people that discover the secret, but when you start talking, more people learn about you, more people resonate with you, more people are attracted to This podcast is a great example of people positioning me as the absolute go-to source when it comes to starting a podcast. Why? Because this podcast is all about starting and growing a podcast. If you go back to episode one of this podcast, I unpack every single one of my air quotes secrets. I unpack my entire book on the first 10 or 12 episodes.
